We provide bespoke professional development and curriculum resources to help FE English and maths teachers strengthen their delivery of GCSE and Level 2 Functional Skills. Rooted in the science of learning, our bespoke training and materials are tailored to meet the needs of each partner we work with. We offer three main programmes:
Professional Development Programme For FE English and Maths Teachers
This 12-month programme equips English and maths teaching staff to deliver a fully-resourced, research-informed curriculum and empowers them to use practical, evidence-based strategies in the classroom. It includes:
6 workshops and 4 guided practice and reflection windows, all tailored to your team’s priorities, challenges, and goals.
A fully-resourced curriculum covering 100 hours of adaptive, ambitious, and efficient teaching.
Experienced, passionate teachers to lead evidence-informed, high-impact workshops and reflective practice.
Access to IRIS Connect – an innovative video recording software. In addition to AI-driven insights to support self-reflection, peer feedback, and targeted professional growth.
All programmes span three terms and begin with our core training session, Getting to Grips with the Science of Learning. This provides the research foundation for the rest of the programme. Following this, leaders select optional sessions aligned with your priorities.
Topics include:
- Adaptive teaching to support all learners.
- Modelling, explanations, and formative feedback.
- Subject-specific skill booster (e.g. vocabulary, problem-solving).
- Habits, routines and behaviour for success.
- Questioning and checking for understanding.
GCSE Maths Resit Resources and Training Package
Designed for 4 hours of weekly delivery, the package includes a full suite of lesson materials – complete with slides, work booklets, and assessments – alongside expert-led live training to help your staff apply evidence-based teaching strategies with confidence.
All materials and training have been carefully designed to build student confidence, close learning gaps, and support adaptive, ambitious teaching.
