At Get Further, we believe a student’s background should never be a barrier to accessing the targeted support they need to succeed.
That’s why we partner with colleges, training providers, councils and other organisations to deliver small-group English and maths tuition programmes that equip students with the confidence, knowledge, and skills to pass GCSE or Functional Skills Level 2.
Underpinned by a wealth of expertise in post-16 education, our programmes support both young people and adult learners to gain the gateway qualifications they need to unlock opportunities in education, training, and employment – and to thrive in life.
Our tuition programmes
Our GCSE Resit Tuition Programme complements classroom learning by providing tailored, small-group support for students working towards their GCSEs in post-16 education. The programme includes:
- 1 hour per week of face-to-face tuition, delivered in groups of no more than 3 by a carefully selected, expert-trained tutor.
- A fully resourced, carefully sequenced curriculum, designed to build mastery of core concepts before moving on to more complex content.
- Attendance support and engagement initiatives to help students overcome barriers and make the most of their tuition.
This programme addresses the underlying obstacles holding back student progress — rebuilding confidence and closing key knowledge gaps to help them secure the pass grade they need to unlock further study, training, or employment.
Through this programme, we work in partnership with training providers, employers and local authorities to support young people and adults to develop the English and maths skills needed to access opportunities for further study, training and work and pass Functional Skills Level 2.
The programme provides targeted, in-depth support for individuals who have previously struggled to engage with English and maths education, including adults who have been out of education for a while and young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), or at risk of becoming NEET.
Students receive 55 lessons delivered by an expert tutor in small groups, and 10 independent study tasks, with options for additional guided learning hours tailored to students’ needs.
Delivered alongside employability support provided in collaboration with our partners, the programme helps learners overcome barriers to progression and take their next step.
